Established over 100 years ago by local golfers searching for a peaceful place to play an ever more popular game, The Hale Golf Club was founded on farmland in the lovely Bollin Valley and the course makes good use of the many natural features of the land.

The Manchester Courier in May 1905 reported: ‘The Hale Links - Charmingly situated in the valley of the river Bollin and far away from the disturbing influences of busy life, the Hale Links are ideally located. The Course, which is of nine holes, is pleasantly undulating, and from the high ground extensive views are obtained over beautiful country. The links are very sporting and excellent judgement has been exercised in constructing the holes. The lies are good through the green and putting greens are true and fast.’

That report could have been written in 2014!

The clubhouse was rebuilt in 1995-96 to provide a modern & well-appointed facility. It was redeveloped again in 2017, with an extension added to allow the provision of more spacious & up-to-date facilities.
